2016 Art Work

Untitled

I'm not really satisfied with this painting.  But I've been told never to throw a painting or drawing away.  You use it as a lesson for improvement for the next time.  This was done with acrylic paint on 11x14 mixed media paper.

In The Glow of the Moon

I am usually taking pictures of the moon.  This time I decided to paint it.

Autumn Barn

Image
A red barn is such a beautiful sight.  But why are a lot of barns painted red?  According to the Farmer's Almanac hundreds  of years ago, many farmers would seal their  barns  with linseed oil, which is an orange-colored oil derived from the seeds of the flax plant. To this oil, they would add a variety of things, most often milk and lime, but also ferrous oxide, or rust. ... It turned the mixture  red  in color. From Dora Explorer to Ninja Turtles

Image
Not that I have anything against Dora Explorer, but my Uncle (Kaiden's great, great uncle), gave us this Dora Explorer sofa.  He is always getting things from folks (he works at a waste station).  The wheels in my head started turning.  So a trip to Walmart and a yard and a half later of material along with 2 days recreating and now we have a Ninja Turtle sofa.  Kaiden loves it!
